5 Easy Target Exercises to Lose Belly Fat
Perhaps one of the easiest and most effective exercises to do, crunches will not only burn the fat on your belly but also tone your entire upper body. As simple as it looks, doing crunches goes a long way in toning your muscles and giving you the desired flat tummy.
To do a crunch, lie on your back with your hands behind your head. Bend your knees such that your feet are touching the floor flat. With your elbows spread on either side, pull your tummy inwards and lift your head and shoulders above the floor. Hold on this position for a few seconds until you feel your abdominal muscles tighten then slowly lie back on the floor. Do this as many times as you can.
Yoga is an ancient Hindu discipline that has been used for generations for the purpose of wellbeing. Among the many benefits of yoga is weight loss. While you can use yoga for general weight loss, there are countless yoga poses that you can particularly use to lose belly fat.
They include the mountain pose, boat pose, standing forward bend, camel pose and cobra pose among others. A simple internet search can help you learn these poses with ease. And no you don’t need to be a seasoned yogi to be able to do this. Here are absolutely beginner-friendly yoga exercises that you can try and master with time.
Burpees, like crunches, have a tremendous impact on your whole body muscles but more so on your abdominal muscles. Burpees are quite easier to do than crunches if you ask me. Although there are many variations of doing burpees, the most basic form of burpees involves standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, bending over as if doing a squat with your hands touching the floor. At this point, you can shift your weight to your hands as you move your feet back to a plank position.
Now reverse back to the original position and then start again. Burpees are very intensive exercises and you will feel wasted after every session. However, you need not worry because that is how you know it is working.
Sprawls are a modified type of burpees and more intensive. Unlike burpees, with sprawls, you actually go in with your chest touching the floor after the plank position, then doing a pushup to get you back to a plank before reverting back to the original position. This will have your whole body toned including your abs.
Taking a walk would be the last thing on your mind when you are thinking about toning your abs. Just to let you know, this mundane pass time can actually help you lose your belly fat. How, you ask? Walking for at least 45 minutes a day can boost your metabolism and help you lose up to 1lb a week. This is quite significant as compared to other intense workouts if you ask me and it is completely free and easy to do.
